Hi there! I am a midwestern transplant and currently call Virginia home (at least for now). We spent five fantastic years living in and exploring the Southwest and a big part of my heart will always live in those dusty mountains between Tucson and Mexico. My husband, our daughter, our adorable pets and I currently live, work, and adventure in the Norfolk area, but we are a military family on the move. I started out in the professional world as a bewildered 9th grade English teacher and my professional goals are evolving as we speak.
I believe in adventure and being brave above all other things. Pizza and wine on weeknights is a close second, though. You can find me in a canyon or in a tent or on a beach or in hiking boots (or on my couch binging a murder mystery on Netflix).
I am an amateur in a lot of ways – painting, writing, running, mom-ing. I’m not especially creative or happy or talented, and most of the time I have no idea what I’m doing.
I think I have a lot of things to say about regular stuff, like books and hiking. But (like you), I’ve also lived through some hard things, and I’d like to share some of that here, too.
Happy trails. 😉
